This project is part of the Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) programme called ModSim, which aims to establish a modelling framework for predicting the microstructure and material properties of dissimilar-alloy welds.

Objectives:​

The M2i2 platform is instrumental in providing remote access to advanced modelling techniques within the M2i2 web-based materials simulator. This resource enables MTC users to upload thermo field data directly to the platform.

Methodology:​​

With the capabilities offered by the M2i2 web-platform, users can predict grain evolution during solidification and heat treatment processes. This predictive capability will significantly enhance the understanding and optimisation of dissimilar-alloy welding techniques, ultimately improving material performance and reliability.
